Gangnam / Samsung Station / Apgujeong / Cheongdam / Sinsa

After 1970, a newly developed city grew from the its center, Gangnam Station. Apgujeong and Cheongdam-dong are the centers of art, luxury goods, clothing, and fashion. For film and video, animation, IT, trade, and an aiport terminal, go to Samsung-dong, while Yeoksam-dong is the financial and distribution capital. This is where young people gather and new trends begin. Contemporary, ever-changing Korea can be seen at Gangnam Station.

  • BanpoHangang Park

    BanpoHangang Park is located on the southern side of the river centering on Banpo Bridge (Jamsu Bridge) between Hamnam Bridge (upstream) and Dongjak Bridge (downstream). The Rainbow Fountain built on both sides of Banpo Bridge is registered 2008 in The Guinness Book of Records as the longest bridge fountain in the world with the total length of 1,140m. The bridge starts from BanpoHangang Riv. Park created under the project of Hangang Renaissance Project. At night, over 200 lightings creates a fantastic view of a beautiful rainbow.

  • COEX Mall & Lotte Duty Free Shop & Hyundai department store

    COEX Mall is the largest underground shopping mall in Asia and is connected to several exhibition halls, a convention center, a hotel, a department store and an office building. The mall houses around 260 stores and leisure facilities including fashion, beauty, entertainment and cultural spaces, and offers a pleasurable one-stop shopping experience, regardless of the weather.

  • COEX Aquarium

    The COEX Aquarium is spread out over a large area and showcases no less than 40,000 sea creatures, which come from 600 different species. The aquarium is unique in Korea because it has been designed around the theme of “Water Journey”. On entering the museum, visitors will embark on an adventure that follows water on its journey from the high Andean mountains, through the Amazon tropical rainforest to swamps, rivers, seashores, and finally to the depths of the ocean. Visitors will get an in-depth look into some of the world’s fascinating underwater creatures.

  • Seven Luck Casino

    Opened in 2006 and expanded in 2009 with the addition of a third floor VIP casino, Seven Luck Casino Seoul Gangnam is a Korean-style casino with an oriental ambience and high-tech facilities. The casino is equipped with 69 gaming tables and 146 of the latest gaming machines, and is connected to COEX Mall which is Asia’s largest basement shopping mall.

  • Bongeunsa

    Bongeunsa is a Buddhist temple founded in 794 during the Silla (one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea) period. The temple has more than 1,000 years of history and has many interesting historic and cultural features, including woodblock carvings of the Avatamsaka Sutra (Flower Garland Sutra). The temple is also a very popular tourist destination, offering various programs relating to traditional Korean Buddhist culture, in a variety of languages.

  • Seolleung

    Seonjeongneung is the name of Seolleung and Jeongneung combined, and it refers to the royal tombs of King Seongjong (the 9th king of the Joseon Dynasty), Queen Jeonghyeon (the second wife of King Seongjong) and King Jungjong (a son of the two). Seonjeongneung was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2009, enhancing its status as historic remains. It is easily accessible as it is situated close to Seolleung Station, Subway Line 2. It makes an ideal place for the public to enjoy a stroll.

  • Cheongdamstreet & Apgujeong Rodeo Street

    The street running from Cheongdam subway station to Galleria Department Store has long since been known as ‘Cheongdamdong Street of Luxury Goods.’ Lined with designer shops, it’s a must-visit place for local fashionistas and has been gaining popularity among Japanese tourists ever since its official designation as ‘Fashion Street.’

  • Galleria Department Store

    Galleria Department Store features two luxury halls, EAST and WEST. Galleria Luxury Hall WEST is a store targeting young people, while Galleria Luxury Hall EAST (or Galleria EAST) offers only carefully selected high-class brands, making it a luxury department store showcasing world-famous fashion labels.

  • Sinsadonggarosu-gil

    The Gingko tree-lined street (Sinsadonggarosu-gil) that runs from Sinsa Station (Subway Line 3) to Hyeondae high school is a popular, upscale street in Seoul. The street (also known as ‘artists' street’) has an eccentric flair thanks to its variety of charmingly decorated coffee shops, and designer stores. Garosu-gil is particularly popular in autumn when the leaves begin to fall.

  • Korean Wave Celebrity Street

    "Korean Wave Celebrity Street," located in Apgujeong in Gangnam. The alley is about 1.08 km and begins from the SM Entertainment building at Apgujeong to the JYP Entertainment building in Cheongdam-dong.
    Presently all the major entertainment and talent agencies that represent Korean celebrities are clustered at this street, which means you will be able to easily spot Korean stars coming and going about. Frequently the restaurants and cafes on this street are full of autographs and memorabilia left by the stars themselves!
